Artist's Statement
My purpose as an artist is to convey the passion and emotion I feel about my subjects. I love the sensual feel of flowers, their organic shape, the way light and shadow plays with them, their translucency and their opacity and the colors, well that goes without saying. I paint what my mind knows and what my eye sees. I often photograph my subjects to capture the flowers at a specific moment in time. It is within those many photographs, I find the inspiration for my paintings.
